 Post subject: Things I'd like to see added to this game in the future....

ok I'm mostly going to comment on WHM and SMN because those are the 2 jobs i have the most experience with, I will also mention a few things I'd like to see added to the game that isn't job specific, some of these aren't my own ideas and some have been mentioned before. Feel free to add your own and lets get some discussions as to why or why not some of these could/couldn't or should/shouldn't be added:

WHM:

- AF2 stats should be revamped due to the lvl70 JSE (blessed gear) blowing nearly all the pieces straight out of the water.

- new job ability similar to divine veil (though it shouln't be part of divine seal and maybe have a shorter cooldown timer) that allows you to select one buff to make AOE (ie. reraise, blink, stoneskin, haste, aquaveil, etc)

SMN:

- new avatars, ones i'd like to see is Bahamut which is just pure DD and all BPs are based on damage as opposed to buffs. Phoenix which could cast varying lvls of reraise(ga) on your pt.

- AF1 should be revamped to compete better with austere gear, likewise a lvl70 JSE should be released to rival with AF2 (um hello where's the refresh aside from verm's?)

- avatars should each have their own bp timers as opposed to having one bp timer that effects every avatar

- they need to seriously fix certain glitches a few that i know of (you go to bp a mob, it moves, and you get the message: the mob is too far away, yet it still costs the mp and bp timer. When a mob dies and you're in the middle of casting a bp, the avatar freezes in mid cast, yet still uses bp timer and mp)

- avatar perp costs should NOT increase as you raise in levels. Likewise, refresh should be altared to work in reverse fashion than it does now.. atm it's rdm refresh + ballad > auto refresh > gear. imo avatar perp cost should be based on the following order: elem/hq staves and austere stuff/af2 (gear) > auto-refresh > ballad + rdm refresh.

- job abilities please! all we have is astral flow ~.~ i would like to see any or all of the following: a ja that enhances the power of your avatar (like a mini astral flow, but not AS powerful) a ja that gives you 0 perp cost for a period of time, a ja that allows you to use serveral bps back to back

Game Adds:

- a feature that allows you to LFP on selected (meaning it wouldn't dispaly all your jobs, just the ones you wanted to level) multiple jobs, how cool would it be to seek as a 75whm, 64smn, 41brd, and 20war all at the same time!!

- abj dropped by land kings only atm should be adjusted to drop in other areas/other mobs, actually i think they should make shining cloth, venemous claw, and all abj more readily available.. but that's just me

- once you complete rank 10 in sandy, bastok, and jeuno you should be able to unlock jeuno residency (i want a white aketon and signet staff)

- an option to display certain stats when you're looking for pt (hp, mp, base stats adjusted with gear, your tnl and homepoint, etc) I know that they have a search comment for things like this.. but if it was shown in game, you'd know it was for real, and then you could leave cooler shit in your search comment like "brad pitt irl"

- they need to stop nerfing how hard it is to gain levels and start making it easier to make money, i think at this point se should realize their economy failed miserably and trying to make it harder to get gil, and have more ways of taking gil out of the game.. is not a solution to the problem.. the only way things will balance out is if everyone has reliable ways to make money.

hmm anything else i can think of at this point they're already working on: better modes of transportaion, expanding certain areas to include more mobs and more places to camp (holy shit there's like 50-60 ppl in bibiki bay around the clock now). I also still think they should consider splitting up servers: the americas, europe and australia, and asia.

Only thing SE should concentrate on is new abjs and new HNM that wont be whored. Gj on the wyrms for a little bit SE but still didnt work.

Your suggested changes for SMN might make the job even more over powered than it already is. If you could BP everytime u call a different avatar, that would be insane... same with reraise-ga (one SMN in each pty in an alliance). Nice idea, but seriously...

RDM Refresh a tick/over all mp regen should increase as either the rdm lvl increases and/or the enhancing magic lvl increases i'm sick of this 3 mp a tick bs and having to be in a pt with 6 ppl to refresh fucking sucks, or give rdm's refreshga or some crap like that. or even a item that enhances refresh potency would be great

I demand rdm gets auto refresh

more clear mind for the red mage

make dispell higher lvl we don't really use it till about 37+ anyways

i wanna see more nin spells also make the spells somewhat stronger via a trait or something


rdm's should be able to wear plate armour (but im asking for too much as it is but <3 iron musketeers armours ; ;)

I would like to see a refreshga. It is kinda a pain to micro manage your mp usage while having to cure. Actually anybody who puts themselves in that condition is retarded haha. cough cough

They should erase the AH history and send back everything that on the AH right now. See what people set the new base price at for expensive items. hopefully lower.

People would remember the price they put it on AH >_> It wont help the situation really, there is just too much money in the econmy and some ppl are willing to pay a lot for something.

Just a few comments I'd like to give on some of the suggestions here.

Time for AF3 maybe? It's bound to be introduced somewhere in the next few years, as more and more people seem to completing their AF2 sets.

Please not. It will just make the game revolve more around equipment than the actual player. It's the whole obsession and competition for having the best gear and stats that made IGE as powerful as it is now.

Don't think that's a good idea. First of all because I like how FFXI brings many different cultures together. And secondly just because it won't be right, and in the best case the only ones who will come out good out of it will be the NA.
European servers will be in a dead man's land, as FFXI was never received well here and European players are therefore very few, building a party isn't gonna be fun when there are only 2 people withinin your level range subscribed to the game. Plus it's not fun when your in a world where the Frenchies and Germans dominate in terms of language and most will not even bother trying to speak English, that's what I learned from my experience in the European servers in GW.
And leaving the JP and the honest Chinese and HK to deal with the gilsellers isn't gonna be fair either.
Not to mention it would just break too many friendships, I'm sure that a lot of you NA's have EU/JP friends and wouldn't want to be torn apart from eachother by a server split.

Why would you want that?? Seriously, I wish they would make it like a level 15 spell.
We level up on some of the most dispel needing mobs in the game all the way from level 14-37:
Crabs and pugils in the dunes.
Crabs and pugils in Qufim.
Beetles in Garlaige Citadel and Altepa Desert.
Getting those early levels would go a lot faster with dispel.

Really? BLM has C or something in enfeebling, RDM is A+. You should be casting it anyway, and if not there is still Paralyze/Blind/Slow/Silence/Gravity/etc. Haste and Cure spells also. Do I really need to point this out..? lol

i think smn is fine the way it is, extremely desired in end game situations, awesome gear options, but they do suck ass in exp pt (hard to fix this without making the class overpowered though). btw losing bp timer when a mob moves isnt a glitch, its meant to be like that just like when a mob outranges a pcs ws or vice versa.

i think the reason i have so many ideas about how to change smn is because i feel like smn doesn't really have it's own "identity" as a "true job" meaning.. the job of a smn relies heavily on it's sub(s). you give say a whm, blm or rdm ANY sub, they're still going to be doing the same job for the most part. However, consider pting with a smn w/o a subjob... pretty crappy right? we get maybe 1-2 BPs a fight, if we melee with our avatars then we'll be down to 0 mp after every battle, we just don't have enough tools at our disposal to do any 1 job greatly, we're very versatile in that we can be support, healer, DD, which is what i like about the job because you really have to know what your pt needs and adjust your playing style accordingly. However, I'd still love to have a true identity and be a great smn instead of a mediocre whm, blm, or brd. But i'm still only 64... i hear things change a lot 70+ when we get the lvl 70 attack BPs.

Besides, we get all the sexy God armor and all our Abj can be obtained from Sky Gods. The only thing that is a real pain in the ass are Black Belt items. :evil:

A graphics update.... I mean this needs to come. This game is starting to look dated...

A couple of mini games too . Arching games, pvp champ fights with prizes and stuff.
