Theres so few First Gen FFXI NA players left. I go through my old shots and I look at how different this game was it makes me kind of depressed. I see how new players get everything so easily. None of them understand the pain of LB1 or the long and scary run to Jeuno for the first time.

guess im not oldschool enough to remember ppl in your old ls's lol i didnt have an ls untill right before i got to jeuno for the first time..

i had a linkperl to KFC, but i didnt know anyone in it so i jes never talked

yeah alot of old names in there. Alukor, Wang, Dibbs, Omegadata, Nekota and people like that are all people who I spent the first few months with.

all my old screen shots have talisin in them because for the first 40 levels talisin and i were ALWAYS in the same pt.

i remember going to jeuno, took me 3 hours.

lb1 lol i got so lucky on that i had friends in the area skilling up, and i happened to be in the region and they invited me an di zoned in and wow i got the paper but i had to do coal w/e th eother thing was with one of my mnk friends.

LB2 i got lucky too, my mnk friend and i went ot kill my dark spark and said wth why not kirr the nm's and he did....it was fun lol

I remember leveling in quifim and there were like 6-7 other parties sitting at the tower zoneline. Lag so bad some days I would get R2000+ and my computer would slow down worse than in dynamis.

i remember not having a sub job at all untill lvl 25, and going blm/whm with a lvl 4 whm untill late CN. no one ever complained or said anything untill then.. now im one level off balance and i get constant tells telling me to lvl my sub

After my pre release ambition of Thf/Sam I thought I "knew the ropes" after about a week. I was like a 10 blm an I was dead set on going Smn/Blm to 75. Well I guess it was probably still 70 back then I think=/ Right?

Wish I still had my really old screens. ;/ I remember being like 60 and helping Yarr, TS, Nippler get their LB1 Lich paper and people sending me tells saying omg Yarr's VN mod and I'm like, wooptie freakin' doo.


That Yarr guy is a jerk. Haha.

and you wernt level 60 ;p your perma group with peejo wasnt much higher than us. At some points it was only a matter of like 5 levels.

the first time i actualy posted conseculativeley (sp major) was when yarr deleted somthing and he had to re-make the boards, for like a week untill his plp could back up the files or somthing.. haha me and doodee went on a huge spamming streak to see who could start the most topics and who could hit 100 post the quickest.. then a few days later my account was deleted...

At the 50-60 stage we were much higher, it wasn't til I was ill and didn't play for a month that you guys caught up irl.

i remember seeing the first person with full AF (that i saw) and it was mikey lvl 60 blm in bastok i had a big talk with him about what a blm and rdm are like, back when i started my 2nd character.


mikey you fuckin rock, im a sexy rdm now after getting every job i have to like 30+ quiting for like 2 months, starting about 14 new characters after getting them to 30 deciding i dont like the faces. to think i started in oct. of 2003 and im not even 70 ; ; lol i need to stop screwing around

only 60 rdm tho...lol damn lb3 to hell

lets put it this way, I gave Lakeoffire hand-me-down armor when I was done with it. He was running by me, I told him to stop and just gave it to him lol......he was lvl 6 I think and I gave him all leather set. yeah, i remember most of those people. Atla was the first JP to help me. he helped me with fetich mission lol

Im really not joking when I say MM is the oldest newbie on the server. Hes about as old school as it gets and hes still not 75 lol, atleast you have a good reason.

Then again talisin took forever to get one job to 75. He hit like 75 months after my whm, but now he has 3 75 jobs and i have 1.

lol, I remember the perms being like this:

Peejo, Kailyn, Itto, Evil, Werx, Me
then
Murph, Gyoryu, QBomb, Althena, Gilzz, Obelisk
followed by
Yarr, Mikey/Nippler, Whisp, Shiloh, TS, Scyth

Gilzz's perm broke like 65ish, and ours broke informally at 70ish. Peejo, Kai, Itto and I stayed together for most of it though. I remember Itto often super jumping to keep me on my toes when I SA/TA + WS. I died alot.

Murph's perma lasted longer than Whisps because they had a better setup. the two of our perma groups did everything together. Then we had a big falling out over a WHM AF3 raid. Murphs WHM wasnt ready when we were and it was really frustrating and Prio helped turn the thing into a big drama fest.

for the most part Murphs Perma and mine (whisps really) were within a few levels of each other.
