Anyone know when the update begins? Like 10pm EST or something?

i thought the maintenance was "scheduled" to go from 12noon to 12midnight (Pacific Time). So the update should be avilable sometime after that

update should be up at like 3am est cuz thats when maintenence ends

If you're talking about the "download" then the download usually appears about 1-2 hours before the maintainence is scheduled to end.

However, this 16 hour maintainence was not just for FFXI, it includes a total shut down and upgrade of the servers for the entire POL network, hence you can't log in to POL right now.

So chances are the download will not be available until POL goes back online, which will not be until the time the maintainence is scheduled to end.

Now consider that everyone will be trying to download it at once. As well as it being a big update thus you're going to be expecting at least a 1-3 hour update even if you're lucky and don't get constantly disconnected.

If you were planning to stay up til 3AM hoping to get online before bed, you're probably not going to be able to.

When it comes to updates, I'm happy I live in Europe because like no Europeans play this game so our patchserver never has problems.
I remember all of NA being locked out of the game for like a whole day after an update a few months ago because their patchserver was overloaded lol.
