So i inally get 75 and i figure out that its really boring.

So i was waondering what jobs you guys thought were really fun and why at higher levels cause i know all jobs low level suck.

MNK, NIN, THF have been pretty fun. Although i havent experienced
MNK at 75 but i hear its fun.

But in my opinion, all jobs can be fun at 75, its really how much
fun you wanna have and you have to make the game fun,
not the other way around. Look for stuff to do, people to talk.

Its all up to you, really.

MNK is soooo much fun at 75 but only in certain situations. For example: We kick ass except gods and HNM. In those situations we sit back and hope to get an invite to the alliance before boost wears off. haha

My next job to 75 will be NIN so maybe I can be a little more useful to the LS. :/

BLM is really powerful endgame, but can be really boring at the same time haha. from exp/farming standpoint, almost any melee job is fun =p

I'm BLM75, and that one never gets boring. I need to level my /RDM sub so I can have even fun soro too. High in demand, and well, you get to blow stuff up 10 different ways.

I'm also DRG75, took alot of hard work and party forming to get there.. but I made it, and take alot of pride in that. I smile a little when I get hate, and trying to do that is fun. Not as needed toward end game, but I am still glad I have a high level melee. DRG/WHM is alot of fun... not useful in xp ptys etc, but well... Ballista.

I'm only THF50 atm, but of what I have seen of it so far, its a fun job. Will probably get my kicks from this after i get PLD62-75 in the next month or so.

75 Bst - is real fun at Dicking around but u need to have a Partner to put a real fight up some times. Also MPKing comes dam Easy as bst it's liek a Job Trait. I only mpk Gill sellers and people do it to me 1st fyi. But no good for Gods or most HNMs. comes in Handy for Turlte Camp. Bst can use alot of the loot from Sky

75 Brd- It's nice to a point. Everyone loves a brd. Easy to get merits which is nice but after a while it's same old but you get some good for a little whille. Real good for the HNM scene but soloing and self stuff is no good haha.

75 Sam- It's a Real Beast in PvP. Suvbbing Rng is a Blast. Dunno how it is going to be with new patch but gotta test it all out. Who doesn't like Mediate>Sharpshot> Barrage>>siderder>> Range attack>>siderwinder or if thats Screws up 2hr Spam WS ahha. Talisin 1 Mura bot 0 lol. Sam Can be a help as a DD in Gods mediate hells with TP issues where normal melee build TP WS once and there done for the fight. were Sam mediate and Can do many WS in the battle. Sam Can use alot of the Loot from Sky.

Yea, BST look like ALOT of fun at higher levels. I want one.
The SAMs I have partied with seem to have alot of fun too. Some just WS seemingly nonstop, its insane.

Dunno, Blm is ****ing boring in xp party, well all jobs are, but it's one step ahead. Maybe it's the fact I never get more than 2-3k per hour too on it.

As for being high in demand, it's true early. After 65, Blm starts sucking kinda and good melee will outdamage you. It's still a cool job and getting #5 solo, or killing IT++ is awesome. Bleh, each job has a lot of pro and cons.


At 75, War is really fun. You do great against everything and have a lot of possibility in term of weapon and armor.

Sam is one of those jobs where most the time it really does depen who ur Sam is depending if they are going to do good job or not. I know some people who hate Sam then i pt with them and do a good job and they Say they love sam. I dunno You have to Tweek the job depending on what Sub job ur useing or just going to be nothing speical.

most popular jobs atm are: mnk, smn, nin, rng so if you want to be like everyone else do one of those...

easiest jobs to get pts: rdm, brd, whm, (with nin, rng, blm, and pld all in a close second) so if you just want to rush another job to 75 those are your options.

challenging jobs that can be a ton of fun if you're really into them: bst, drg, thf, war, drk, sam, smn

SMN is about the most boring job to level in the game. It's like WHM, only without Cure IV and V. When a SMN joins a PT, you're basically bringing in a WHM of their subjob level. 70+ it gets interesting, just because of the BPs that are available, but in an EXP PT, you really still don't serve as much of a DD because the spot would be better filled with another DD of anykind, provided the PT already has a WHM or RDM. Some people really love leveling SMN, just because of unique it is... but, I had an awful time everytime I PT'd with it. If it weren't for Hcc, Ilm and Xiona grouping with me all the time, I probably would have never gotten the job to 75.

DRK however, I have alot of fun with when I play it in an EXP group. But unlike WAR, MNK, RNG, it takes alot of understanding of the job and focus to perform on a higher level. And sometimes I really don't care to be that attentive. One of the biggest draw backs of DRK is that the mages really don't like it when you use Souleater and keep it on, since it makes them have to stay on their toes as well. It's basically a supercharged Zerk + Aggressor at the expense of your HP. And it can fuck up aggro if your tank isn't up to the challenge. If you know what your doing, a DRK can (with GREAT effort) match the damage output of a BLM. There's been a few times on parses that I overshadowed everyone else in terms of total DMG.

DRK in general though, is probably on equal terms with a RNG in terms of power in a party, even without some of the nicer equip. Don't think anyone will beat out a MNK in KRT though. ;p MNKs are probably the best overall melee/non-magic DD in the game, right above WAR. I'm still afraid to use the parser if Ilm or Skye are in the group. Haha. DRK is very situational in a PT for DMG, since if you're trying to outdamage people, you can't really go all out or you'll be on the recieving end of an asskicking. And the lack of a TP gaining ability (Double/Triple Attack, Dual Wield, Zanshin, Meditate, Barrage, Jump, Kick Attacks, etc.) due to THF being the only real sub for DMG. Back in the day when Guillotine still gave 50% TP return, things my have been different for WAR sub.

And I'm currently leveling MNK, which is incredibly fun but is really dependant on the mob type you're up against. I was busting out 600-700 Raging Fists on Anticans, then moved the party over to Gustav Tunnel for crabs and was doing like 200-300. Which pissed me off a great deal. I dunno. Different jobs are fun for very different reasons. RNG isn't as expensive as people think, just because their normal equip isn't as pricey as other jobs, SAM can be an interesting choice just because the number of subjob options (but requires a great deal of gil for proper equip), WAR is just amazing since they're uber at just about anything they do and they can sub just about anything and wear just about anything, and um.. ya, this post is too long. Haha.

as for blm, yea its fun to solo, it kicks ass for damage almost 99% of the time, but god its fucking boring in exp 70+ haha.

Arr-tree plz. If ur a Hume like me, u just might survive all that. At his point the tank will probably start yappin some old song about BLMs and overnuking...

At some random interval, just decide either u or the mob is gonna die. A little lost xp no big deal... add spice to ur life.

everytime i read Tal's posts about samurais, i cry irl. The power of the samurai is incredible. Bring a Sam/Rng and a Rng to an EXP party @ 75, have someoen with a parser, and see how good the sam does against the rng... i have beaten quite a few.

A lot of the oldschool samurais know how to make the most of the damage/tp, but all these new samurais that come into the job w/ o.kote, snipers, blah blah blah, they really just suck...

Yeah half the time I go into Xp pts Even with a Dagger and shield. Dagger +14 Range Acc Sheild +5 Str +3 Eva. I always get those... "your useing a Dagger?" i'm like "yeah!" lol. I'll get my Tp From shooting Arrows anyway. 18%-20%tp an arrow and maybe 3%-4% Tp from dagger between shots. and I Can Do Easy 3 Siderwinders a Fight at about 750-800Dmg a Siderwinder. You should see all the Crying pld and Nin haha. All and Great fun eh? Some times i See a Sam/Rng in Ballista Wearing Gtk +4 Str rings Jse pants "ice Spikes" and All this but Nothing of the Gear is Towards his /rng sub and i watched him miss about umm..... 3-4 sidewinders in a Row. Now that hurts. You get about 20% back from a Sidewinder if it lands. And ovbously 0% on a miss. I was lvl 73 When i took Murabot down 1v1 and she Tanks Nidhogg and KB Np. Sam/rng is hot with all his Job Ablittes up. Can pull some Crazy Crap out his butt if in trouble. Only main Probelms i find is when my Job abiltys are down and have a Mnk on my butt but if you space ur Job abiltys out and got a Good healer you should be fine.

Sam is good but you Gotta love what you do. There will be Days that u don't get invites and some days u will get invites but only 2k an hr b/c they want you to SC with a Drg... haha. Will Take alot of time.... But don't Expect to Barrage/Siderwinder right away. Sam has lvls that Draggggggggg out and u gotta just grind it out haha.

Serously u Want a Layed back job and some what Repedive job then lvl brd. It's Super Easy to lvl. I didn't LFG till lvl 60. You just unanon and you get invites.. JP or NA. For Fun sometimes i'm unanon and i Can't pt b/c i got Friends coming over irl so when a JP sends a tell i say "sorry NA only" haha it's funny. the Same guy /tell me to PT the next day he didn't seem so hurt haha.

Drac if you didn't have nin already leveled I would say go level that, haha, that's what I'm currently leveling and I really love it. I know a lot of people always say whm is boring and repetetive and blah blah blah but I honestly love the job and it's great for traveling/exploring/doing stupid shit. With reraise 3 you really have free license to do anything you want to try without too much penalty. For example did you know that whm/nin *cannot* solo smn avatars, fancy that, now you know. ;p

If you like melee jobs though, I would recommend SAM, I haven't played it myself but honestly I am really starting to love sams in xp parties... just please don't be a suckass sam that only wants to sc once a fight though, lol. The difference between a good sam and a moron is really noticable... one day on my nin we had this great taru sam and we were doing 2x skillchains a fight and it was just sick xp and really fun too.

BST is a lot of fun too but perhaps not the job for you if you get frustrated easily, heh.

Really if you want a job for true 'endgame' activites, nin is a good job already, the most fun I have though is trying different stuff just for kicks and I can do that on pretty much any job and I only have whm, rdm and nin as my highest jobs. Just try out different jobs until you find something you like.
