Its been almost two years since FFXI started out and alot of the older players are still around. Its actually quite impressive.


So here's my question.


What is it that keeps you playing FFXI?


I'll start off.

I play FFXI because I have the best group of friends in CKD. There's also a few other things. I refuse to quit until I get Dragoon up to a 75. I want to get my full White Mage AF2 set and my Dragoon af2 set haha.

So what keeps you playing? Dream gear? Friends? Both? What people and what items keep you going?

Dont be afraid to list off loot, it doesnt make you a loot whore, this game is designed to tease people with the classic "carrot" just out of reach.

I keep quitting b/c I can't balance the game with rl well (I bail on lotsa stuff to play). What makes me keep coming back from quitting is friends mostly. And the fact this game offers so many hours of entertainment for so little money. My rl hobbies are expensive and this gives me the same satisfaction...that being said I might start playing again...

My main answer would be friends tho.

I have to go with people I meet on the game. Since my play time is so limited I look forward to the time I get to run around with a close in game friend or help them get something they always wanted. So for me its strictly the friend aspect of it.

Ummm i Basicly did what all my main goals are i just dink around for about 6-7 hrs haha and i hot nohting else to do. Stare at a Wall or play this.. lets think.

One of the main reasons i'm still playing is because of the people i've been playing with for the past almost 2 years are still playing. Also, I still have some goals I would like to accomplish ingame, and I plan on leveling NIN and BLM eventually when I get motivated to do so.

Then there's part of me that knows FFXI is my version of crack and I just can't break the habit.

o/` If there's a cure for this....I don't want it.

i remember i took a break from ff for about a month till cop came out and then came back and started playing it. so i guess cop has been my motivation for the last 9 months. who konws what will keep me entertained after we finish learnign stuff about sea and it just turns into the next sky.

well, i recently started up playing some of the older FF's (tactics, 7, 8, 10) and realized that i gotta experience everything there is to the game. I've gotten most of my god gear, Lvd a job to 75, and done most of the missions.

What keeps me goin, is gettin my shura haidate, Zipacna's damn gkt, and getting some shaded spectacles, and a SS w/ a CKD pearl on... oh, and my friend kotee^^
