What about Subaru? :P

Can't go wrong with a Civic...SS Cobalts piss me off - punk kids think they are fast and try to hassle me sometimes. Jetta (VW in general) is a nice choice as well - I love Milly's car. lol

I don't like VWs, especially Golfs. I don't like how Cobalts are FWD either.

I'm not a VW fan. I know it's not a great perspective, but I park a lot of cars. Almost all of the VW's I park have shit wrong with them or plastic is broken and electrical shit doesn't work anymore. Everytime I get into one I cringe, not a good car at all IMO.

Check out a '97 or '98 Honda Accord. I think you'll like them for the price.

Yeah the majority of people in AZ who drive Cobalt SS or SRT-4 seem to be punk kids in their late teens who wanna race everybody. They have power for a $20,000 car but I wouldn't trust their reliability. I've beaten both at the track with just intake and exhaust and my car is NA lol. I can't wait to get the Full Race stage 3 turbo kit with a GT35R :dbanana:

lol, well I'm not much for racing, street or otherwise. I can't think of what a Subaru looks like off the top of my head, but I can look into it also.

I think Subaru is great. Good luck buying one if you don't have perfect credit... And 40k burning a hole in you pocket

first and for most stay away from american and german cars. Volkswaggen's are pieces of shit and lord knows american cars are a waste of metal and gas. want something economical thats not rediculously expensive and looks half decent then go for a Toyota Corolla CE. its the basic model 1.8L engine 4 cyl 130cc displacement (120 horsepower) I would stay away from any honda considering insurance will eat you alive and chances are it will get stolen especially in the united states. If your budget is big then i would go for a Mitsubishi Lancer evolution 9 FQ320. self independant awd system, has a 2.3L turbocharged twin-cam engine that produces 312 brake horsepower at 6700 RPM and can do nor to 60 in 4.7 seconds which is astonishing for a 4 door saloon. its got luxuries such as leather seats and only costs 32,000$ american and im sure you can negotiate for an older model with low mileage. another option would be to go with athe mirror to the Evo 9; the subaru WRX impreza STI or the basic WRX impreza model wich is turbo charged as well producing 235 brake horsepower and only costs around 16,000USD (used with low mileage) only thing you might not like about the WRX is the height placement of the clutch. i believe they used a 6 puck ultra grip clutch which makes it hard to catch the friction point but takes getting used to. another very good car which is not expensive what so ever and is very economical would be a mazda protege. can probably pick one up for 6-7k and the car is virtually indestructible. anyways dude if you need any more advice and you like what i have to say about cars lemme know ill aid you to get what you like and for the best price!

everything has its lemons dude, i could go on about the mishaps i've had with my japanese import cars.. but it doesnt mean they are terrible..

i've had 0 problems with my VW, and i had tons when i had my rx7. so i just think that WV's are better.

This is misleading. I do not drive a Jetta! But if I did it'd be a turbo.

I don't know about the rest of the Volkswagen's in the world, but I love my little car so far. It's pretty fast and has all the options I wanted. It seems solid so far, but we'll see how it holds up.

Fiur, I disagree with you about German cars altogether.

Also, I'm just wondering, how much did it cost you for your Skyline, like importing and tags, etc?

I still use VW 1600CC engine type A with dual carb for my sandrail and still using the same engine that never broke down yet. even I still also have bettle bug 76 that also have the same engine that I had also not replace it yet, It still runs. so VW are not shit.

I also demand an answer to this question because Fiur's sig turns me on.

Mmmm sexy pipes.

I had always been a big fan of the skyline look and hype. Of course, I've never actually even seen one irl, much less considered ever being able to own one. :p

So, answer the man above plz Fiur kkty.

Interesting side note: I'm selling my car to buy a truck soon.

Nothing big, but a smaller, well balanced, not a huge gas-waster type truck.

Anyone know any good models?

I always liked driving my uncle's avalanche. It handles extremely well for its size. He's since bought a H2 that he's pimped out, which still has that "omglook" aura which gets a lot of from passerby's.

well for one german cars have good engineering. im sure a bmw m5 isnt a waste considering it costs like 90,000 pounds but what i mean about german cars being trash is they break down easily in the lower ranks like audi and vw and they cost a shit load to fix. i know many people who have had problems with thier VW Audi and even blm 300 and 500 series. maybe just a streak of bad luck, its possible.

as far as my skyline is concerned, just the container was 7000$ then you have marine insurance and the dirt & soil inspection fee's which are included. by dirt and soil they mean not 1 spec of earth from japan can be on the car or it is sent back by canada customs. believe me dealing with transport canada and trying to insure the vehicle...took me 4 days non stop before i found a broker that would insure it but was a huge pain in the ass but very very worth it :)

asside from that the car was on sale for 15000$ CAD in japan. pretty rediculous for a 1991 GT-R. cut him down a few tousands to 12.5k but the car is in crazy condition. only 1 owner not used often and had only 67000 km when i got it (had all the papers to prove it so it wasnt a roll back) got the car completly stock which i really liked cuz i got to chose what i want to put into it.

all toghether with the fees and importation it cost me roughly 20k for a car in perfect condition. brand new skyline gt-r was selling for 88000$ in 1991 lol.

List of mods:
Under the hood:

TRUST GReddy power extreme II 3.5" to manifold titanium alloy exhaust system - HKS front pipe - HKS turbo dumps - HKS GT2560R twin turbo upgrade - HKS exhaust manifold - HKS SSQV bov - TRust GReddy Intake suction kit - MINE'S MAF (Z32 size) - HKS 264 camshafts - HKS cam gears - N1 oil pump - HKS Intercooler R-type - HKS aluminum intercooler piping - NISMO intake plenum - HKS stage 2 valve spring upgrade - HKS Connecting rods x6 - HKS stage 2 Piston kit - HKS metal head gasket and piston seals - OS Giken twin plate race/street clutch - TRust GReddy oil catch can - HKS fuel pump - HKS oversized high flow Fuel rail - HKS 780cc injectors x6 - TRUST GReddy oil filter relocation kit - HKS full rad - MINE'S VX ROM ECU - HKS oversized oil pan - NISMO HA S-tune suspension.... probably more that i cant think of off my head now lol

interior:

2x Sparco Evo seat generation II (for tall people like me lol) - 2x Sparco racing harness - HKS boost, oil temp, oil pressure and exhaust temp guages - NISMO 5 speed shifter knob - NISMO white 320 km/h 11000 rpm cluster redline 9000 rpm - TRUST GReddy Profec B II boost controller - stock built-in turbo timer! lol - and hoping to get a sound system soon lol

Exterior:

RAYS Engineering VOLK Racing SF-Challenge 18x10j rims x4 - Falken Azenis RT615 low profile high performance tires - JUN carbon fibre hood and trunk

Note* i left the bore size stock, it gives better response and left the standard RB26DETT crankshaft but might upgrade to a HKS crank once i save up another 5000$ and after the sound system lol

Out of the cars I've owned, three stand out as being not POS.

I am forever and always a Subaru Impreza lover.
They are reliable, fast and handle better than anything out there in all conditions. They are cheap to fix, simply because I almost NEVER had to have this car fixed. Had one from 2000-christmas eve 2006. My ex-husband smashed this car to smitherines, quite possibly why he is now my ex...jk

Honda Civic
is generally a good reliable car of the gutless variety, so get an Si if you go for that. Drove one of these for 4 years, not a single issue with it and it was cheap to fix

Ford Focus
isn't a bad choice for domestic cars, the only problem is that they scream "MOM" as you drive by, especially if you have a "Yummy Mummy On Board" sticker posted on the rear window. Yes, my fiance put the sticker there and this is my current ride.
