My five second run down for each book:
[spoiler]
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe -- Most well known, kids hope in a wardrobe and meet Mr. Tumnus, "Welcome to Narnia."
Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia -- A thousand years go by, magic is disappearing, Telmars, aka sailors that got lost at sea, found a magic door on an island and settled narnia, enter the picture. Evil king, rightful ruler, people turn in to pigs.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader -- Meet Eustace, everyone goes out at sea, meet eustace the dragon, island of nightmeres, etc. etc. Aslan is jesus and they go far enough to visit his dad's place.
The Silver Chair -- Enter jar jar "wigglewam" binks. Eustace redeems himself. Almsot get eaten by giants, get fed talking animals.
The Horse and his Boy -- I liked this story. Kid runs away with a horse. You learn a lot about the other nations in this book. Namely Tash or what's his face.
The Magician's Nephew -- Cool because it explains what the lampost was doing in Narnia, and generally the start of the world ... otherwise a really trippy story. DON'T RING THE BELL YOU ARTARD.
The Last Battle -- Quite literally the 'last battle,' kids die on a train, end of the world, everyone goes to heaven and has an awesome time.

"Facts" from wikipedia:
These were the order they were written in inside the spoiler tags, however, in 1994 under suggestion from Lewis's nephew they were rearranged in their internal, chronological order: The Magician's Nephew, The Lion, Witch, Wardrobe, Horse and his Boy, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the Silver Chair, The Last Battle.
