Rofl, I meet aleks in jeuno tonight and he immediately decides he doesn't like his mule's name "Happymeal" so we decide first for me to tell the GM that Happymeal is offensive to me because me sister ODed on McDonalds. However we finally conclude the best option would be to say that a happymeal is an exotic sex position (doin the happymeal).

So the stage is set. And I get a GM call....

I didn't know a mule was involved in sex... I would find that offensive.

If you want to change the name, I hear all you have to do is delete the character, get a friend to make a new mule with that old name. And then call SE to restore your old character, and you'll be made to change the name when you log in or something.
